Barlach Heuer was a painter, graphic artist and glass collector from Elmshorn. He spent many years of his life in Paris, where he also died. The first name “Barlach” probably stems from a family connection to the sculptor Ernst Barlach.
The Elmshorn Art Association dedicated a commemorative exhibition to him in 2020 (German).
The title of the print is “Ygdrasil”, it is a colour woodcut made from two blocks and dates from 1971. It is listed in “Farbdrucke” by the artist, published in 1980 by Nacke in Wuppertal (ISBN: 3-920365-01-1).
